appropriating the technological and urban landscape: Moi

Designed and manufactured in New York state in 2001, Moi was the first true fashionable and expressive wearable product to test the limits of simplicity, appropriation and expression in technology.

Moi employs a staple technology: a thin, flexible wire, a 3V battery, a custom designed battery clip and an LED. Moi explores the ways in which technology can become part of everyday life, infuse it with possibilities, allow wearers to experiment and in the process tell their own story.

Moi was sold in design concept stores around the world and quickly became a cult design object, spreading light and magic in its path.
